Steaming Together
For thousands of years, women have gathered to steam together: in Southeast Asia, Central America, and Africa, passed between mothers and daughters and aunties as both medicine and rite.
You will experience a guided herbal pelvic steam while I tend the space with meditation and live sound. We move through the history and wisdom of the practice, honor the body through optional journaling and sharing, and close with song. The atmosphere is unhurried, grounded, and warm.
If you are new to steaming, this is a beautiful place to begin. If you already steam, the circle deepens your practice.
How the Ceremony Goes
Learn: We open with the ancestral history and benefits of pelvic steaming: what it is, where it comes from, and what it can offer your body at any stage of life.
Steam: You settle in and receive a 10-minute guided herbal steam while I hold space with meditation and sound. The herbs are chosen for their gentle, nourishing properties and prepared fresh.
Honor Your Body: Pelvic steaming traditionally supports cycle regulation, fertility, menopause ease, womb wellness, tissue strengthening, and more.
Reflect: Space for journaling and optional sharing follows. There is no pressure to speak; witnessing other women in this practice is its own kind of medicine.
Close: We gather the experience together with song and a moment of quiet before returning to the day.
Note: Pelvic steaming is contraindicated during active pregnancy and menstruation. You are warmly welcome to join the meditation and circle without steaming if either applies.
What's Provided:
- Handcrafted cedar pine sauna box
- Medicinal herbal steam tea, prepared fresh, a blend chosen for its nourishing and regulating properties
- Blankets and bolsters
- A nourishing snack
What to Bring
- Bath towel and hand towel
- Journal and pen
- Hot pad
- Stainless steel 2 to 4 qt pot (no aluminum or non-stick)
What to Wear:
- A long, loose dress or skirt, easy to wear while sitting on the sauna box. Underpants will need to be removed during steaming; go without, or plan to remove them
- Socks or slippers

Space and Setup
Our circle is limited to eight sauna boxes. If you have your own setup or are experienced with steaming in child's pose, you are welcome to join beyond that number. Please reach out directly so I can accommodate you.

Take the Practice Home
The ceremony can be a beginning. For those who want to continue steaming between gatherings, I handcraft medicinal herbal steam blends from my apothecary, made from plants I know and trust.
The cedar pine Pelvic Steam Sauna Box used in ceremony is handcrafted by my father in Maine and is also available for your home practice.
